This little porcelain pot was once a tea container and would have had a lid that unfortunately is missing. It was a popular shape in the 18th c and appears with various typles of decoration, but the fluted-shape is not seen as often. At the bottom are scrolling tendrils in relief, some of which are damaged as you can see from the photos. There is also some fritting at the mouth probably caused by the lid. The neck is decorated with golden flowers (in good condition) inscribed in cartouches and the body has a delightful design of insects and flowers en grisaille. Please take a look at the pictures as you can see detailed any damage and wear to the enamels/gilding.
The jar is about 10 cms high and weighs 151 g.
