Large chased and patinated bronze terminal clock featuring Homer, based on the painting by François GERARD, reproduced in engraving by Raphael MASSARD.
Homer accompanied by his guide, lyre at his back, in gilded bronze applique is at the center of the clock.
The brown-patinated post is highlighted by a wide ormolu frieze of palmettes and filleted pearls. The base is decorated with an ormolu frieze of raies-de-coeur. It stands on 4 angular, rectangular feet decorated with crowns and torches.
The ring-shaped dial features a patina similar to that of the clock, with a central ormolu decoration of rosettes, palmettes and accacia branches.
The movement strikes the hours and half-hours, and is suspended by wire.
