    Superb mantel set in Italian Yellow Sienna marble and patinated bronze, consisting of a large clock topped by a sculpture of a woman in the antique style and a pair of cassolettes on pedestal, forming Medici vases.
    The clock is made on 3 levels of marble. In the upper part, an important bronze figure of a young woman, draped in her toga, her hair girded with a crown of flowers topped with a large knot, is leaning on the clock. Books placed on it imply that the young woman is reading. In the middle, a horizontal marble block is decorated with ornamentation in patinated bronze, forming volutes and palmettes. Underneath, the yellow marble base benefits from a large bronze frieze chiseled with scrolls in the upper part and rests on four bronze feet, formed of large volutes. This large clock is accompanied by small Medici vases in patinated bronze, supported by a pedestal in yellow marble of Siena surrounded by a foliage frieze in bronze.
