Rare clock in finely chiseled gilded bronze, inscription "Gare à la Bombe" on the base, representing a cherub in the cloud of smoke from a cannon shot, symbolic of fertility (the mortar gives birth to Love in a cloud of smoke), cockerel movement signed by the watchmaker Charles Le Roy*, from the Directoire period at the end of the 18th century.
This clock is in good general condition. The movement predates the clock (earlier in the 18th century.). It will need to be revised.
Reported: missing needles. a rear foot has been repaired, the decorative elements move a little in the base, wear and micro-scratches from time, see photos.
