Elegant clock in fine gold-gilded bronze from the Empire period, early 19th century, circa 1815 - 1820. The allegorical subject is amusing, our clock represents the sunrise: the night in the form of a winged nymph, a star on her forehead, who with one hand lifts the veil covering the dial of the clock. She brings the light of day with her torch and with her feet she tramples poppy flowers which symbolize sleep.
Very beautiful mercury gilding in matt and shiny, original wire movement which seems functional and complete (revision to be entrusted to a watchmaker for cleaning and start-up adjustments: service on request, contact us).
