A finely chased ormolu clock depicting "The Birth of Love", with a vestal virgin welcoming a little cherub emerging from a flower, at her side a beautiful fire pot or Athenian with ram heads, enamelled dial with Roman numerals with 2 swans holding a flowering basket, on the base 2 garlands held by winged torches, 1st Empire period, early 19th century.
This clock is in very good condition and is of remarkable quality. The wire movement works, and we have the pendulum but not the key. It has a domed rear window.
