Beautiful clock or portico pendulum, Empire style, first half of the 19th century, in flamed mahogany veneer. Height approximately 47cm.
gilt bronze ornamentation depicting a basket of flowers in acanthus scrolls on the base, which supports four columns with cylindrical shafts, the whole topped by an entablature decorated with three rosettes also in gilt bronze. Bronzes and gilding of beautiful quality.
The dial, in gilt bronze and guilloché, is enameled on its perimeter. The hands are of the Bréguet type, called "off-centered apple", the balance of the "grill" type, made of alternating steel and brass rods, ends with a gilt bronze and guilloché lens, weighted with lead balls.
The movement, very precise, has been completely dismantled and overhauled; it strikes the hours and half hours. All the bronzes have been dismantled and cleaned. Please note, a small lack of veneer in the middle of the entablature, above the central rosette, and some cracks at the back of the base.
Additional photos, photos of the restoration and details of the restoration operations available on request.
