Aubusson tapestry, 18th-century greenery.

In keeping with the tradition of Aubusson greenery, this verdant landscape reveals a variety of fauna and flora.

The foreground is dominated by a tree in full bloom, occupying the full height of the picture, with a bird of prey perched at its center, its wings outstretched and a snake in its talons. This lively ensemble contrasts with a broken tree on the left.

The background, more open but no less lacking in perspective, shows a group of exotic buildings at the foot of a mountain range. The effect of depth is also marked by a progressive gradation of colors, from light beige tones to denser blues.

Original borders, carefully composed and decorated with plants and fruit bowls.
Beautiful harmony of colors in shades of blue, green and ochre.

Dimensions: height: 280cm, width: 188 cm

Good condition, tapestry dimensions unaltered, a few broken relay seams and old restorations to note.
Partially lined, ring fastening system, ready to hang.
