TRAVEL CASE XIX th century

A box or travel case with compartments...
It is from the XIXth century, Napoleon III period.
The case and some parts are in mahogany covered with leather,
Some imperfections to the exterior leather without gravity of course...!
It rests on 4 small brass feet.
It has its original key and the lock works perfectly.
All the mounts, hinges, fasteners, plugs are in brass...
It is signed in two places M. G. PARIS.
It has on the upper part (the lid) a document pocket with a bellows in fine cardboard covered with wavy silk, the fastener is in chased brass and signed, fixed on mahogany covered with leather serving once opened as a writing case...
It has in the lower part all the necessary to write.
With a closing inkwell said of travel in enamelled sheet metal green, sheathed of leather with its container out of glass and a small handle out of brass...
With has the opposite in the same principle as the inkwell a box wipes nibs and in interior of this one the arrangement for nibs and others, same materials as the inkwell.
Note that the closures are functional.
Under each box, which can be removed, there is an empty space to put other small things, like a small cache...
There is also a stamp box and a box for pencils and other things with also a space, underneath...
It has a removable mirror that has been changed under the writing desk.
She has in the bottom of the box a pair of perfume bottles and 7 boxes, they are all in blown crystal cut BACCARAT.
All these containers have stoppers and lids in solid silver.
Controlled has the minerve to the 1 title (950/1000)
The decoration is guilloche and the initials and the friezes are engraved in the mass...
It misses a crystal container but it remains the lid...
A part of the boxes are on a removable tray which still leaves a possibility to put some things underneath...
And there are 2 cases for towels or washcloths in cardboard covered with leather.
It is a nice work and a beautiful set...
This case is in good condition despite the small things mentioned in the presentation text...
