These two knives, one steel blade and the other vermeil, have mother-of-pearl handles whose ferrule and tip are in vermeil decorated with foliage motifs. They are preserved and stored in their original leather case, the interior of which is lined with red velvet. It bears a date on the case "June 5-6, 1898". They are stamped with a neck brace head, the solid silver control mark in effect from 1838, and the diamond-shaped maker's mark where the letters A and L are distinguished, accompanied by a trowel for goldsmith Adelson Limousin received in 1890.
