Set of 12 knives, made entirely of vermeil: solid silver gilded with fine gold, including blades and handles. Each piece is richly decorated in the Rococo style of Louis XV, with finely chiseled details on the handles. Each knife bears several official French hallmarks:
• The head of Minerva on the blade and handle, certifying that they are made of solid silver (950 or 800)
• The master silversmith's mark "L B" within a diamond, probably attributed to Louis Benoit (active in Paris around 1830–1850)
