Exceptional dessert set in gilt (solid silver covered with a thin layer of fine gold), baguette model with guilloché handle and blade, decorated with a cartouche engraved with a Princely crown. Restoration period, mid-19th century.
Our cutlery is made up of 12 vermeil dessert forks and 12 vermeil dessert spoons as well as 12 dessert knives, vermeil handles, vermeil blades (guilloché like the handle, which is an extremely luxurious finish that we do not never seen this set before) and 12 cheese knives with silver-gilt handles and stainless steel blades.
Each handle is engraved with a Princely crown. Our cutlery bears the Minerva 1st title hallmark in use from 1838 as well as the goldsmith hallmark of Pierre François Queillé, active from 1834 to 1846.
Our cutlery is a superb example of the refinement of the art of living of the high aristocracy in the mid-19th century. The title of Prince is the highest rank in the French aristocracy.
The set is in excellent condition, superb, complete. The vermeil is in an exceptional state of freshness.
