Set of 24 table settings consisting of 12 forks and 12 spoons in silver-plated metal presented in a case. This case dates from the end of the 19th century. They are among the first cutlery released in this model from Christofle.
The cutlery has a monogram on the reverse in Gothic letters. These are the initials AG.
The Marly collection takes its name from the Château de Marly built by Louis XIV in western Paris, and completely destroyed during the Revolution. It is for this “country” castle where the label was less rigid that the plate shape “with marli” would have been created (the marli is the inclined peripheral part of a plate, allowing it to be handled without get your fingers dirty).
Created in 1897, this model owes its name to the Château de Marly, the charming vacation spot of Louis XIV. Marly translates the richness and refinement of a “French-style” table, while remaining very current, due to the homage it pays to the plant which constitutes its main ornament.
