Thonet chair N° 19/1 called "Engelstuhl" (angel chair), a model created by Thonet before 1880.
This chair is in such good condition that it can be used daily in comfort, silence and elegance.
Model N°19 with a round seat is common, but the very rare chair on offer here has a trapezoidal seat, with small turned capitals adorning the top of the front legs. This is a "luxury" model.
Nice stamp (pre-1882) under the seat. Snippets of label 1b or 1c give us: Ca,1875
Beautiful "medium walnut" color, excellent structural and conservation condition.
The canework is in perfect condition, and we are certain that it dates back a good forty years (2.2X2.4mm).
