    Set of 6 chairs with Pelte or Pelta backs decorated with a shell, this pattern inspired by the crescent-shaped shields notched on the side used by the Amazons of ancient Greece. The front legs are sword-shaped and the back legs sabre-shaped, which completes the martial effect of the decor. This model was created by Pierre-Benoit Marcion in the 1800s, produced under the Empire and the Restoration (see the book Marcion, cabinetmaker to Napoleon by Jean Pierre Planchon). Our chairs in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer are upholstered with a yellow silk Pekin with lines (Lelievre). Consulate or Empire period.
