Pair of Thonet Engelstuhl Chairs N° 19
The n°19 bentwood chair has a backrest with two curves in the shape of drops or wings facing each other, surmounted by a small circle. It's also known as an "engelstuhl" chair (angel-chair in German). The seat is round and caned. Label and stamp under the seat / late 19th century. Height 90 cm. Seat height 48 cm. Diameter 42 cm. In good condition. The seat has new manual caning. Traces of use and age on the wood. Some defects inherent to bentwood.
