Attractive suite of six cane-bottomed dining room chairs, in molded and carved walnut, decorated with asymmetrical rocailles centered on a cabochon, water leaves, shells, acanthus leaves, etc., standing on cambered legs terminating in entablatures and joined by an X-shaped brace (minor accidents and wear).
Louis XV period, circa 1750.
Good condition.
The decorative repertoire and placement, as well as the characteristic cut-out on the top rail and front apron of this chair, allow a comparison with the work of Pierre Nogaret, received as Master in Lyon in 1745 (see Guillaume Janneau, Le mobilier Français, Les Sièges, page 78).
With six blue velvet patches.
Seat height without seat cushion: 43 cm
