Cane chair in molded beech and carved with flowers, from the beginning of the Louis XV period (it keeps a spacer between the legs, reminiscent of the Regency period) - circa 1740-50. Cushion and back covered in old Genoa velvet, probably the original upholstery dating from the 18th century.

Good general condition, firm assemblies and canework, small old restorations to the wood, wear to the cushion, but this one is almost 280 years old.

A pretty model, this type of seat is aimed at demanding collectors keen to reconstruct a period set for the furniture but also the fabrics which cover them.
