Designed by the famous Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti (1891 - 1979), the Livia model was conceived in 1937 to furnish the Livianum faculty of literature at the University of Padua. As with the Palazzo Montecatini, Gio Ponti was the winner of the public competition announced by the University. He thus obtained not only the design of Palazzo Liviano, seat of the faculty of literature, but also its furnishings such as benches, desks and chairs. Thus was born the Livia chair, characterized by its structure in solid beech or walnut wood and a seat in beech plywood. Quickly becoming an icon of Italian design, this chair was produced for the public in different versions and colors.
We offer a set of these six chairs in perfect condition, black lacquered and fabric seat.
