This chair is identical to a set of 28, in walnut, listed in the Mobilier National reserves under the inventory number GMT–7683–019, described as such: “from a set delivered to the apartments of the Emperor in Rambouillet, walnut in imitation of mahogany. Nine of these chairs are kept at the Marmottan museum (Inventory number 215 to 223), there is also a series of four at Versailles.
