Beautiful pair of chairs model no. 67 by Jacob and Joseph KOHN, created in Vienna (Austria) in the mid-19th century.
This Art Nouveau model was created around 1900.
These "bistro" chairs are beautifully crafted.
Turned solid beech for the frame and thermoformed pressed wood for the seat and back, they are very stable and solid. All are stained and waxed.
Each is stamped on the seat belt and bears the house label under the seat. One of them also bears a label indicating the presence of a boutique at 24 boulevard des Italiens in Paris!
Both are in good condition despite their "great age". One of them has been professionally restored on a rear foot, but this has no effect on its solidity, and the other has a small chip on the back of the circular bar, which is not serious.
This is certainly a fine set, the originality of which comes from the Art Nouveau motif pressed into the seats and backrests. Rare objects that could be called collector's items.
