Exceptional Consulat Sofa, after the Jacob Frères model, 19th century.

Magnificent carved mahogany sofa featuring an openwork cross-base back, convex with diagonals forming lozenges centered on a macaron, whose wide top rail is carved with palmettes on foliage interspersed with vertical culottes.
Lotus-shaped connecting dice, armrests finished with superb lion muffles carved in the round.
It stands on four lion-legged hocked front legs and four saber-shaped back legs.

Model based on the series of six armchairs by Jacob Frères ( 1796-1803 ), two of which were placed in the Empress's first salon in the Tuileries Palace.
