I am offering for sale this very fine pair of antique mahogany and mahogany veneered bergères from the Empire period circa 1810 in very good condition. These two seats have been completely restored: woodwork and upholstery. They are covered with a splendid blue toile de Jouy with a white background depicting the Roman goddess of the Hunt: the famous Diana!
This type of toile de Jouy was produced from the end of the 18th century onwards and was an instant success, continuing under the 1st Empire.
These bergères are presented for sale in splendid condition and can be combined with a modern interior.
Beautiful traditional pad varnish, as was done under the Empire with mahogany furniture, and another little trick: the armchair cushions are zippered, so they can be removed from their covers and put in the washing machine in case of stains.
