Thonet armchair N°18 ½ called “lady’s armchair”. The dimensions are reduced compared to the standard No. 18.
It is dated to Ca, 1870/1875, see the stamp, the label (1b) and the rear curve. ( in picture)
This seat is an export model because all the screws of the parts are visible, this allowed it to be transported disassembled while reducing the volume.
Originally this armchair had a so-called “natural” finish, it has always remained that way, blond; it was recaned manually with cane purchased in Germany in 2.2X2.5mm, (SR weaving)
This piece is entirely original, without restoration, it is stable, symmetrical and usable on a daily basis.
Dimensions: Height: 95 cm, seat height: 47 cm, Total width: 58 cm - seat: 45X46cm
