Cantilever Bauhaus armchair, tubular steel and bentwood. Published by Thonet between 1932 and 1935 under N°B261.
It is the work of a French designer: Emile Guillot (1892-1960) The organization of forces and cantilever is unique and certainly exclusive. The chrome tubing is original and in good condition, with only traces of rubbing at the points of contact with the ground (underneath). The seat is shaped like a "saddle" for added comfort, and certainly elegance! Its absence from Thonet's catalogs may be due to the designer's origin.
This armchair was produced in two versions, a standard version with a seat height of 47 cm and a "relaxation" version with a seat height of 43 cm. Dimensions: Height: 82 cm -Seat height: 43 cm -Width HT: 52 cm -Depth Ht: 56 cm This chair is signed with an aluminum plate fixed to the back of the seat. One example is in the Musée des Beaux-arts de Reims.
