I'm offering for sale this superb solid mahogany and mahogany veneer "Aux Dauphins" armchair from the Empire period, circa 1810, in fine condition. The seat is upholstered in a magnificent dark red and gold antique silk by Maison Tassinari et Chatel, entitled "Masséna" in honor of General André Masséna, Napoleon I's comrade-in-arms. The Houlès braid is adorned with laurel and palm fronds.
This armchair has been entirely reupholstered and the strapping is in very good condition.

A beautiful model that fits easily into a modern interior.
Lots of charm!
(slight wear of the silk on the edge of the seat)
