A leading figure of Danish design, and more broadly Scandinavian, the Danish Finn Juhl is an architect and industrial and interior designer, a precursor and founder (with a few others) of this design that he was the first to present and introduce to the United States. An architect who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1934, he began a fruitful collaboration three years later with the cabinetmaker Niels Vodder, then with the cabinetmaker Daverkosen when he designed for France & Daverkosen, one of the greatest Danish furniture manufacturers of the 20th century. Our Spartan armchair is the result of this collaboration and dates from the 1960s. It is in perfect condition, in honey-colored wood and taupe upholstery.
