About :
Louis Delanois (1731-1792) - chair joiner - master's degree obtained July 27, 1761: Louis Delanois is one of the greatest joiners of the 18th century - the most inventive of the Transition period.
Louis Delanois left behind a large number of seats, in both Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, all of which bear witness to his talent. After starting out in a workshop on the rue Bourbon-Villeneuve, he quickly achieved success and moved to the rue des Petits-Carreaux, where, in parallel with his main activity, he began trading in wood. Delanois worked for merchants, for illustrious personalities such as the Comte d'Artois, the Prince de Condé and the Duc de Chartres, for wealthy collectors and, above all, for the Comtesse du Barry, who commissioned him on a large scale.
