Delightful and rare cabriolet armchair, in cream relacquered beech, molded and carved, with trapezoidal back, fluted baluster arm brackets highlighted with lotus leaves, fluted waistband, fleur-de-lis carved connecting stops, standing on four fluted and ringed turned spindle legs.
Late Louis XVI or early Directoire period, most likely circa 1792/1795.
Good condition.
Petit point tapestry upholstery decorated with bouquets and garlands of flowers and polychrome foliage on a cream background, most probably original (wear and accidents).
