Pair of Empire style armchairs in carved white lacquered wood with gold accents.
They rest on two tapered front legs and two rear saber legs. The belt and uprights are straight and the seat and backrest are rectangular. The part forming the grip of the armrests is in the shape of a sphere, recalling the armchairs of officers. The latter, designed so that officers could sit down while keeping their swords in their belts, had the armrests set back, or even removed, and had a spherical pommel directly above the foot as a substitute for the armrest.
Sculpted decoration with frieze motifs alternating palmette bases, rosettes, typical of the Empire style.
Upholstery in golden fabric, imitating shagreen.
Work from the middle of the 20th century, in good condition.
