Pair of Louis XVI medallion armchairs, in lacquered beech wood.
They rest on 4 tapered, fluted and rudenté legs.
Ample and beautifully molded, they have a very beautiful backrest attachment and a very elegant connection between the armrest and the backrest crosspieces.
Beautiful damask fabric upholstery (note two small stains on one seat).
Both are stamped P.PLUVINET
Parisian work from the Louis XVI period.

Philippe-Joseph PLUVINET was received as a master on July 14, 1754. Established on rue de Cléry, he produced Louis XV and Louis XVI seats of very high quality, whether simple models with only moldings, or more abundantly sculpted luxury works. He died in May 1793.
