Jacques Pierre Letellier was a Parisian carpenter who became a master in 1747. Born into a family of carpenters, he developed his business in the Faubourg Saint Antoine. His production was then primarily in the Louis XV style. Pierre Kjelleberg's book, "French Furniture of the 18th Century," indicates that he created both luxurious seats and those for more simple purposes. For example, he is said to have made ten Transition armchairs for the Marquis de Marigny, now held in a Parisian collection.
