Lovely pair of cabriolet armchairs upholstered in sky-blue silk cannetillé, made in Paris during the Louis XVI period, late 18th century, in grey-white lacquered wood.
Model with "fer de pelle" backrest, fluted legs and finely carved connecting dice, fluted console armrests. Our chairs are a beautiful, highly architectural production. The fluted baluster armrests are typical of the late Louis XVI period, on the eve of the French Revolution, and herald the Directoire style.
No stamp, but the elegance of the proportions and the quality of the finishes are the signature of a great chair joiner.
Our seats are in excellent condition. Completely restored and reupholstered in sky-blue silk canetillé.
NB In the coming weeks and months, we will be offering several seats upholstered in this silk, to form a matching set.
A 3rd identical chair is available on request.
