Fauteuil de Bureau N°1 by Thonet, produced from 1880 to 1904. Only a saddle-shaped seat allowed the "gens de robe", the clergy and magistrates, to remain seated without crossing their legs. To achieve this, Thonet placed the legs of this armchair in a "diamond" arrangement, as opposed to the standard square arrangement, while other manufacturers made it tripod-shaped, for the same purpose. Stamp and label (2) Width: 63 cm, depth: 52 cm, seat height: 47 cm, total height: 78 cm Rare in finish N°11, original "medium oak style", see PJ for Thonet finishes in 1899. More than perfect condition. Ready for use More photos and information on request. Delivery in France and Europe or pickup in Alsace.
