Jean-René Nadal (1733-1783) said Nadal the eldest. Carpenter-sculptor. Master's degree obtained on September 22, 1756

"Jean-René Nadal is the eldest son of Jean Nadal, carpenter, and the daughter of his colleague Jean Cresson. He is also the brother of Jean-Michel Nadal, himself a carpenter. Nadal takes over the workshop rue de Cléry – probably after the death of his father – and decided to settle in the same street under the sign of the “Lion d’Argent”.
During his career, he worked mainly for the Crown as well as for the Count of Artois to whom he delivered many seats.

His works are of high quality, both in the Louis XV and Louis XVI style. Among them, we cite various seats for Queen Louis XV, in particular a pair of opulent armchairs sculpted with palms and stylized foliage, and in the neoclassical style, original living room furniture consisting of a sofa with armrests turned upside down and six armchairs with racket backs, the uprights crowned with pine cones, carved decoration of piastres, rais de coeur, frieze of laurel and foliage."(18th century furniture and cabinetmaker)
