Claude I SENE (1724-1792) - Cabinetmaker. Paris. Mastered July 20, 1743.
Claude I Sené, son of Jean Sené, was admitted to his master's degree on July 20, 1743.
Having married a sister of carpenter Jean-Etienne Saint-Georges, he set up shop with his brother-in-law on rue de Cléry under the sign "du Grand Saint-Georges".
Although they worked in the same workshop, the two men were independent and each signed their own works.
Claude I Sené left us some very fine, comfortable and elegant Louis XV chairs, often mounted on frames. However, there are very few Louis XVI seats, apart from a magnificent sofa with a backrest made up of three medallions "carved with rose wreaths, olive branches, laurel torus, rais-de-coeur and acanthus".
Claude Sené retired from the profession in 1780.
