Rare mahogany armchair on ringed baluster front legs and saber back legs. Full belts, baluster armrests. Finely openwork scrolled backrest pierced with a stylized "LMY" monogram.
Cressent, a joiner based at 66, fbg Saint-Martin, supplied numerous chairs to the imperial administration and to Prince Eugène de Beauharnais at his hotel on rue de l'Université.
Condition report: new knife-blade trim on its original straps, covered with a tobacco silk damask with flowers. Minor wear.
