Rare and handsome cabinet (or desk) armchair in gilded, molded and carved walnut, decorated with shells, acanthus leaves and reticulated motifs, standing on four ribbed mutton-bone legs joined by an X-shaped brace. The armrests have tan leather cuffs (worn) and a removable leather pad for the seat.
Late Louis XIV period, circa 1710 / 1715.
