    Michel CRESSON (1709 - after 1773)
    Seat carpenter -
He obtained his Master's degree on August 30, 1740.
Brother of Louis, also distinguished himself in the manufacture of luxury seats.
He only followed in the footsteps of his elder and reproduced many of his models. His stamp was found on works remarkable for their elegant forms and the finesse of execution.
He was an eminent master cabinetmaker and succeeded his brother as Juré-carpenter from 1750 to 1752.
After the death of his brother Louis Cresson, he was called upon to provide works for the furnishings of the Prince of Condé at the Palais-Bourbon and the Château de Chantilly.

The Cresson family is a dynasty of 18th century cabinetmakers who provided no fewer than 10 Masters to the corporation of cabinetmakers from the Regency to the Revolution.
The production of this family is mainly focused on the seat. It is characterized by a Regency then Louis XV style.
The upholstery of their seats can be in tapestries or with cane bottoms.
Although competitors, the Cresson brothers had a common clientele. Great patrons placed orders with them, such as the Prince of Condé and the Duke of Orléans.
Of the four most famous, three were brothers: René known as the Elder, Louis and Michel. The fourth and best known, Jean-Baptiste, was their cousin. The email has been copied
