Temple horse decorated with stamped brass ornaments, solid wood body, brass or bronze head. North India, early 20th century.
These horses, often called "temple toys", mounted on boards with small wheels, were offerings to the gods deposited in the temple.
In good condition, normal oxidation marks (grayish patina).

Provenance: Estate of collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau.
