* Saint Eloi
Éloi de Noyon (c. 588 - December 1, 660), was a French bishop of Noyon, goldsmith and coiner, who served as Minister of Finance to Dagobert I. For Catholics, Saint Éloi is celebrated on December 1. Although still a layman, he was elevated to the see of Noyon in 640. After his election as bishop of Noyon, Saint Éloi spent twenty years converting the Druid population of Flanders and the Netherlands to Christianity. His companion Saint Ouen tells the story in his Vita d'Eligius. Entrusted with the full confidence of Dagobert I, he carried out the most important missions, including persuading Judicaël, Duke of Brittany, to submit in 636. He is said to have performed miracles, such as saving the Saint-Martial church on the Île de la Cité in Paris from fire, and healing a paralytic in the abbey of Saint-Denis. Saint Éloi is generally considered the patron saint of hammer workers, and more specifically of goldsmiths, jewelers, engravers, blacksmiths, etc.
