Large gilded wooden sculpture of a large sheaf of wheat tied with a straw cord forming a knot on the front, a bakery or jewelry store sign, probably "A La Gerbe d'Or", from the 18th century.
This sculpture is in good condition and of exceptional quality. Two examples of similar wheat sheaf signs are preserved at the Musée Carnavalet in Paris.
Please note: old break restored before gilding (visible on the back, on one side of the wheat ears), a few tiny old worm holes, some wear and missing gilding in places, wear of time, please look at the photos.
