Luca Madrassi (1848-1919) was a French sculptor of Italian origin, who died in Paris in 1919.
He began his artistic studies in Rome, then entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Working in the studio of Carrier-Belleuse and then for Gustave Doré, the young sculptor immersed himself in the trends of 19th-century sculpture.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1879, where he received several mentions.
He became a naturalized French citizen in 1890 and a member of the Société des Artistes Français.
Known for his production of statuettes, busts and allegorical subjects, his work shows a tendency towards neo-classicism.
