Mexico, 1960s/1970s, superb large polychrome terracotta statue of an Aztec god. He is seated and holds in his right hand a removable scepter with a flower at the end.
A creation of very fine quality, both in the clay work and in the firing and painting, it conforms to pre-Columbian creations in its striking realism.
Height 31.5 cm. The scale indicator on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand.
Recessed stamp under the base attesting that the sculpture was made in a workshop in Mexico City.
Good condition. No dents, cracks or missing parts. It should just be noted that the scepter has been broken and glued back together at the handle, absolutely invisible in the normal position as the hand hides this very discreet restoration, which has no effect on aesthetics.
