Terracotta sculpture of two young fauns or satyrs caressing and feeding a goat with grapes, signed Charles Perron*, on a gilded wood base, late 19th-early 20th century.
This sculpture is in good condition. It is signed on the rim. Please note: slight accidents and tiny chips (cf. red arrows, on the edge of the sculpture and on the neck of a satyr), age-related wear and scratches, slight wear to the gilding on the base, see photos. *Charles Théodore Perron (1862-1934): his best-known work, "L'Epave", a marble statue inspired by a poem by François Coppée, was exhibited at the 1897 Salon. He was also responsible for "L'Espièglerie" (1899) and "Surprise" (1899), as well as numerous decorative groups and a number of publishing bronzes. (Cf Les bronzes du XIXème siècle by P.
