Tibet, first third of the 20th century, interesting bronze group depicting Yama, a terrible bull-headed deity with shaggy hair and a crown of skulls, embracing his consort and trampling a reclining figure and animal with his feet, symbolizing the crushing of evil forces. Yama, judge of souls, is the Buddhist god of death and lord of the underworld.
Height 26.5 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a well-known brand of lighter.
Good condition. Slight greenish oxidation with no effect on aesthetics.
