Lead sculpture representing a putto or cherub holding a bunch of grapes and a cup of wine, certainly part of a fountain, from the Louis XIV period late 17th-early 18th centuries. Mounted on a Scagliola* column (stuccoed wood in faux marble style on a wooden core) from the late 18th-early 19th centuries. This sculpture is in its original state, it is of high quality. It does not fit well on the column and will need to be reattached. Note: breakage at the bottom of the cup (we have the piece of the foot of the cup), some accidents and scratches on the lead, accident at the bottom of the column (base broken in two, will need to be restored), some small chips and missing stucco, wear and tear, look carefully at the photos.
    * Scagliola: also called marble stucco, is a technique for producing columns, wall coatings, table inlays, sculptures and other architectural elements in stucco imitating marble, originating from Italy. This scagliola technique, due to the Carpi engineer Guido Fassi (1584-1649), was established in Italy at the beginning of the Seicento. Fashionable in the 17th century in Tuscany, it became an effective substitute for the expensive marble inlays of the workshops of the Opificio delle pietre dur of the Medici family in Florence.
