Brown patina regula sculpture signed Rancoulet depicting a young woman dressed in a traditional dress and headdress, carrying ears of wheat. This peasant woman with a benevolent face stands gracefully and looks down at the ground. A "Fabrication Francaise Paris Made in France" stamp is affixed to the terrace near the artist's signature.
Ernest Rancoulet was a 19th-century sculptor, a pupil of Lesquesne and the Bordeaux municipal school. He exhibited at the Salon from 1870 to 1876.
