Created by a Japanese craftsman, this bronze quadruped incense burner rests on a base with the Takao signature. The lid, openworked to let the incense's fragrance rise, is topped by a Qilin. This mythical deer, unknown to Westerners, is one of the four celestial, supernatural or beneficial creatures of ancient China and has been adopted by traditional Japanese culture. Let's consider it as the equivalent of our unicorn since its Japanese translation would be "one-horned beast"!

This mythological qilin represents perfect bliss, gentleness, peace and prosperity, an ideal animal to accompany the tea and incense ceremony.

The body of our incense burner is decorated with phoenixes in cartouches while the handles are stylized dragons.
