    Description :
    Gilded carved wood.

We have a lion's head on acanthus leaves carrying a baluster of Ionic capital.
These consoles were originally used to decorate a wood panel or an opening post.
This pair of consoles is in fact a console of the Louis XIV period and a console of the XIXth.
As is often the case, in order to reconstitute a pair or to create one, the original model was reproduced.
The work was done in the ornamental spirit of the XVIIIth century, if the sculptures are identical, the lions look each one an opposite direction, and the volutes of foliage in low part are also opposite, it is the concern of the detail hardly visible!
The consoles have been redone with leaves and plinths.

    Condition:
Good condition, restored, the older console is narrower in depth.
This is not visible in situation.
Some old chips on the volutes.

    Dimensions :
height without the base: 62 cm , width: 31 cm , depth: 18 cm .
